Collagen Assay Kit (CAT#: CB-P015-K) Datasheet

Description
Collagen is the key structural protein of connective tissue and the protein with the highest content in mammals. It appears in many different types and forms, with I-V type being the most common. In addition to playing a key role in the human body, it also has many medical applications, such as reconstruction surgery including bone and skin grafts. Because of its anti-aging and skin healing properties, it is also often used in cosmetics. Currently available assay methods for quantifying collagen range from extensive hydrolysis procedures that require acid and alkali to the use of expensive antibodies and complex protocols.

Creative Biolabs' collagen assay kit provides a very simple, safe and sensitive method to quantify collagen in samples. In the first step of this process, the collagenase in the sample is digested into peptides. Subsequently, the N-terminal glycine-containing peptide reacts with the dye reagent to form a fluorescent complex. The fluorescence intensity of this product measured at ex / em = 375/465 nm is directly proportional to the collagen concentration in the sample.
Features
•Fast and sensitive. Linear detection range (20uL sample): 2 ug/mL to 50 ug/mL collagen in 96-well plate determination.
•Safety. Non-radioactive determination.
•Convenient and high throughput. "Add-mix-read" type determination. No washing and reagent transfer steps are involved. It can be easily automated, processing thousands of samples every day.
