Anti-Mouse CD46 Monoclonal Antibody (clone MM10) -10 mg (CAT#: CB-P518-K) Datasheet

Product Type
Antibody
Description
The monoclonal antibody MM10 recognizes membrane cofactor protein (MCP), also known as CD46. MCP is a type I membrane glycoprotein consisting of four isoforms, namely two CD isoforms (51-58 kDa) and two BC isoforms (59-68 kDa), which are passed through a single CD46 Generated by alternative splicing of genes. Membrane cofactor protein is expressed in all cells and tissues except red blood cells. Membrane cofactor proteins are used to down-regulate complement activation on host tissues. MCP is a cofactor for factor 1 mediated cleavage of C3b and C4b. This method can protect host cells from autologous attack. MCP is a receptor for a variety of pathogens, including measles virus, streptococcus pyogenes and pathogenic Neisseria.
