Description
The Hexokinase Inhibitor Screening Kit (colorimetric) provides a fast, simple and adaptable test that can perform high-throughput screening of hexokinase inhibitors within 30 minutes. Hexokinase converts glucose into glucose 6-phosphate. Glucose-6-phosphate is oxidized by glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase to form NADH, thereby reducing the colorless probe to a colored product with strong absorbance at OD = 450 nm. In the presence of hexokinase inhibitors, the reaction is prevented/eliminated, resulting in a decrease or complete loss of absorbance.
