Description
In Creative Biolabs' D-mannitol assay kit (colorimetric), in the presence of NAD, mannitol dehydrogenase converts D-mannitol into D-fructose to form NADH, thereby reducing the colorless probe to A chromogen with strong absorption at 450 nm. The kit can also be used to measure another sugar alcohol, L-arabitol, because L-arabitol serves as a substrate for mannitol dehydrogenase. The D-mannitol assay kit is fast (~20 minutes), sensitive and easy to use. This assay kit can detect mannitol levels below 1 nmol/reaction (<10μM) and can be used for a variety of sample types.
