Anti-Human MAp44 Monoclonal Antibody (clone 2D5B6) -10 mg (CAT#: CB-P455-K) Datasheet

Product Type
Antibody
Description
The monoclonal antibody 2D5B6 specifically reacts with human MAP-44. The protein is approximately 44kDa and is encoded by another spliced mRNA of the MASP-1 gene. So far, five MASP proteins (MASP-1, MASP-2, MASP-3, MAp19 and MAp44) encoded by two genes have been identified. The MASP-2 gene produces MASP2 and MAp19 due to alternative splicing, while the MASP-1 gene encodes a primary transcript that can be spliced into three different mRNAs encoding MASP-1, MASP-3 and MAp44. At the protein level, MASP-1 and MASP-2 are responsible for complement activation through proteolysis of C2 and C4, while MASP-3 is believed to inhibit the production of C3 convertase. So far, the role of Map44 is still elusive. However, recent studies have shown that, compared with the level of Map44 in normal serum, patients with colorectal cancer have elevated levels of MAp44 after surgery. The monoclonal antibody 2D5B6 is suitable for immunohistochemistry, western blotting and immunoassay.
