Description Lactate dehydrogenase (LDH, EC 1.1.1.27) is a stable enzyme that exists in all cell types. Cell damage leads to the release of LDH enzyme into the culture medium, and its activity is widely used as a marker of cytotoxicity. It reversibly converts lactic acid to pyruvate, accompanied by the mutual conversion of NADH and NAD +. Creative Biolabs' LDH Cytotoxicity Fluorescence Assay Kit provides a sensitive, fast and simple method for detecting LDH released from damaged cells. In this assay, LDH converts lactic acid to pyruvate and NADH, thereby reducing the proprietary probe to a strong fluorescent product (Ex / Em = 535/587 nm). The amount of fluorescence is directly proportional to the number of damaged cells. The assay is suitable for high-throughput format and can be completed in less than 20 minutes.
