GFP Quantitation Kit (CAT#: CB-P003-K) Datasheet

Description
Green fluorescent protein (GFP) is a spontaneous fluorescent protein. GFP has also been recombined and modified (called EGFP). GFP and EGFP have been widely used as valuable reporter molecules to visualize gene expression events in various cell types and organisms in vivo. Since GFP does not require other substrates or cofactors, GFP fluorescence can be easily detected under a fluorescence microscope. However, most GFP imaging studies are only qualitative. Because the quantitative analysis of GFP expression levels in cells or tissues is more informative and has a wide range of applications, Creative Biolabs has developed the GFP Quantit Kit, which can quantify GFP in the form of a 96-well plate. Cells or tissues can be homogenized directly in GFP analysis buffer. Determine the amount of GFP by comparing its fluorescence with that of a GFP standard. The kit can detect multiple GFP concentrations (0.01-10 µg/ml). A GFP quenching solution is also provided to determine the autofluorescence of cell or tissue extracts. Each kit provides enough reagents to perform up to 100 determinations, Ex / Em = 488/507 nm.
