Description
Cytotoxicity determination is an essential tool in drug discovery. In vitro single-parameter cytotoxicity assays, such as the use of tetrazolium salt (WST), neutral red (NR) or crystal violet (CV) in cultured cells, are widely used because these methods are fast, economical and animal-free. However, a major problem with the use of single-parameter analysis is that the IC50 data determined using these individual analysis methods can sometimes be very different due to the inhibitory effects of specific compounds. Therefore, if the cytotoxicity assay is not properly selected, it is easy to miss false negative compounds that are actually cytotoxic. To partially solve this problem, multi-parameter cytotoxicity assays are a faster and more comprehensive alternative method that can be used to determine IC50 and cytotoxicity of different pathways.

Creative Biolabs' WST-NR-CV combined cytotoxicity analysis kit allows researchers to test their compounds in different pathways such as cell proliferation (WST), lysosomal activity (NR) and total DNA synthesis (CV) Cytotoxicity. The kit is simple and fast, but it can quantitatively measure the number of living cells, providing an excellent and effective method for in vitro cytotoxicity research and high-throughput drug screening.
