Description
Superoxide dismutase (SOD) is one of the most important antioxidant enzymes. It catalyzes the disproportionation of superoxide anions into hydrogen peroxide and molecular oxygen. The sensitive SOD analysis kit uses WST-1, which can produce water-soluble maz dye after reduction with superoxide anion. The reduction rate of superoxide anion is linearly related to xanthine oxidase (XO) activity. Therefore, the inhibitory activity of SOD can be determined by colorimetry.
