Cooperation Seeking
Creative Biolabs is interested in collaborating with potential partners (include but not limit to major pharma or biotech firms) to further co-develop ADCC-enhanced Uroplakin 1b antibody. For commercial partners interested in our ADCC-enhanced therapeutic antibodies, Creative Biolabs welcomes collaboration. Here are two ways for your choice, and please contact us for more details.
1) Collaborate with us and co-develop the programs from discovery phase to IND enabling. Costs will be shared.
2) Become a licensed candidate of our programs.
Looking forward to cooperating with you in the near future.
Official Name UPK1B
Full Name uroplakin 1B
Background The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the transmembrane 4 superfamily, also known as the tetraspanin family. Most of these members are cell-surface proteins that are characterized by the presence of four hydrophobic domains. The proteins mediate signal transduction events that play a role in the regulation of cell development, activation, growth and motility. This encoded protein is found in the asymmetrical unit membrane (AUM) where it can form a complex with other transmembrane 4 superfamily proteins. It may play a role in normal bladder epithelial physiology, possibly in regulating membrane permeability of superficial umbrella cells or in stabilizing the apical membrane through AUM/cytoskeletal interactions. The use of alternate polyadenylation sites has been found for this gene.
Alternative Names UPK1B; uroplakin 1B; UPIB; UPK1; TSPAN20; uroplakin-1b; UP1b; tspan-20; tetraspan; uroplakin Ib; tetraspanin-20
Gene ID 7348
Cellular Localization Membrane
Involvement in Disease Diseases associated with UPK1B include Transitional Cell Carcinoma and Fraser Syndrome 1.
Function The composition of the asymmetric unit membrane (AUM); a highly specialized biomembrane crafted from terminally differentiated urothelial cells. It may play an important role in normal bladder epithelial physiology, and may regulate the membrane permeability of superficial umbrella cells or stabilize the apical membrane (similar) through the AUM/cytoskeleton interaction.
Post-translational modifications 1.N-glycosylated with high-mannose oligosaccharides 2.Modification sites at PhosphoSitePlus
