Cooperation Seeking
Creative Biolabs is interested in collaborating with potential partners (include but not limit to major pharma or biotech firms) to further co-develop ADCC-enhanced Vascular Adhesion Protein VAP-1 antibody. For commercial partners interested in our ADCC-enhanced therapeutic antibodies, Creative Biolabs welcomes collaboration. Here are two ways for your choice, and please contact us for more details.
1) Collaborate with us and co-develop the programs from discovery phase to IND enabling. Costs will be shared.
2) Become a licensed candidate of our programs.
Looking forward to cooperating with you in the near future.
Full Name
amine oxidase, copper containing 3
Background
This gene encodes a member of the semicarbazide-sensitive amine oxidase family. Copper amine oxidases catalyze the oxidative conversion of amines to aldehydes in the presence of copper and quinone cofactor. The encoded protein is localized to the cell surface, has adhesive properties as well as monoamine oxidase activity, and may be involved in leukocyte trafficking. Alterations in levels of the encoded protein may be associated with many diseases, including diabetes mellitus. A pseudogene of this gene has been described and is located approximately 9-kb downstream on the same chromosome. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.
Alternative Names
AOC3; amine oxidase, copper containing 3; HPAO; SSAO; VAP1; VAP-1; membrane primary amine oxidase; copper amine oxidase; placenta copper monamine oxidase; semicarbazide-sensitive amine oxidase; amine oxidase, copper containing 3 (vascular adhesion protein 1)
Cellular Localization
Plasma membrane
Involvement in Disease
Diseases associated with AOC3 include Diabetic Angiopathy and Diabetes Mellitus.
Related Pathways
Its related pathways are Tyrosine metabolism and beta-Alanine metabolism (KEGG).
Function
Cell adhesion proteins are involved in lymphocyte extravasation and recirculation by mediating lymphocytes to bind to peripheral blood lymph node vascular endothelial cells in an L-selectin-independent manner. Has semicarbazide sensitive (SSAO) monoamine oxidase activity. May play a role in fat formation.
Field of research
Neuroscience antibody; Signaling Transduction antibody
Post-translational modifications
Topaquinone (TPQ) is generated by copper-dependent autoxidation of a specific tyrosyl residue. N- and O-glycosylated.
Biologic Classification
Protein Based Therapies
Monoclonal antibody (mAb)

Description
BTT1023 is a fully human monoclonal antibody targeting VAP-1 (vascular adhesion protein-1). VAP-1 is a completely new therapeutic target. The safety and efficacy of BTT1023 has earlier been investigated in small clinical trials in rheumatoid arthritis and psoriasis patients. In March 2015, BTT1023 transitioned into Phase 2 development in fibrotic conditions and received Orphan Drug Designation in the EU for the treatment of primary sclerosing cholangitis.
Antibody Indication
Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis; Psoriasis; Rheumatoid Arthritis
