Function
Guanine Nucleotide Exchange Factor (GEF) of RHOA and RAC1 GTPases. Involved in coordinating actin remodeling, which is necessary for cell migration and growth. In the developing hippocampal neurons, the formation of dendrites is restricted without affecting the establishment of axon polarity. Once dendrites are formed, they participate in the control of synaptic function by regulating the endocytosis (similarity) of ampa-selective glutamate receptors (AMPARs) on CA1 excitatory synapses. Can be used as a regulator of fat formation (due to similarity).
