Cooperation Seeking
Creative Biolabs is interested in collaborating with potential partners (include but not limit to major pharma or biotech firms) to further co-develop ADCC-enhanced Neuropeptide Y antibody. For commercial partners interested in our ADCC-enhanced therapeutic antibodies, Creative Biolabs welcomes collaboration. Here are two ways for your choice, and please contact us for more details.
1) Collaborate with us and co-develop the programs from discovery phase to IND enabling. Costs will be shared.
2) Become a licensed candidate of our programs.
Looking forward to cooperating with you in the near future.
Official Name NPY
Full Name neuropeptide Y
Background This gene encodes a neuropeptide that is widely expressed in the central nervous system and influences many physiological processes, including cortical excitability, stress response, food intake, circadian rhythms, and cardiovascular function. The neuropeptide functions through G protein-coupled receptors to inhibit adenylyl cyclase, activate mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK), regulate intracellular calcium levels, and activate potassium channels. A polymorphism in this gene resulting in a change of leucine 7 to proline in the signal peptide is associated with elevated cholesterol levels, higher alcohol consumption, and may be a risk factor for various metabolic and cardiovascular diseases. The protein also exhibits antimicrobial activity against bacteria and fungi. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2014]
Alternative Names NPY; neuropeptide Y; PYY4; pro-neuropeptide Y; prepro-neuropeptide Y;
Gene ID 4852
Cellular Localization Extracellular region or secreted
Involvement in Disease Diseases associated with NPY include Eating Disorder and Adjustment Disorder.
Related Pathways Its related pathways are Neuroscience and Signaling by GPCR.
Function NPY is implicated in the control of feeding and in secretion of gonadotrophin-release hormone.
Post-translational modifications The neuropeptide Y form is cleaved at Pro-30 by the prolyl endopeptidase FAP (seprase) activity (in vitro).
