Cooperation Seeking

Creative Biolabs is interested in collaborating with potential partners (include but not limit to major pharma or biotech firms) to further co-develop ADCC-enhanced Macrophage migration inhibitory factor antibody. For commercial partners interested in our ADCC-enhanced therapeutic antibodies, Creative Biolabs welcomes collaboration. Here are two ways for your choice, and please contact us for more details.
1) Collaborate with us and co-develop the programs from discovery phase to IND enabling. Costs will be shared.
2) Become a licensed candidate of our programs.
Looking forward to cooperating with you in the near future.
Official Name
MIF
Full Name
macrophage migration inhibitory factor (glycosylation-inhibiting factor)
Background
This gene encodes a lymphokine involved in cell-mediated immunity, immunoregulation, and inflammation. It plays a role in the regulation of macrophage function in host defense through the suppression of anti-inflammatory effects of glucocorticoids. This lymphokine and the JAB1 protein form a complex in the cytosol near the peripheral plasma membrane, which may indicate an additional role in integrin signaling pathways.
Alternative Names
MIF; macrophage migration inhibitory factor (glycosylation-inhibiting factor); GIF; GLIF; MMIF; macrophage migration inhibitory factor; L-dopachrome isomerase; L-dopachrome tautomerase; phenylpyruvate tautomerase
Gene ID
Cellular Localization
Extracellular region or secreted
Involvement in Disease
Diseases associated with MIF include Rheumatoid Arthritis, Systemic Juvenile and Pulmonary Hemosiderosis.
Related Pathways
Its related pathways are Tyrosine metabolism and Cell surface interactions at the vascular wall.
Function
Pro-inflammatory cytokines. Participate in the innate immune response to bacterial pathogens. The expression of MIF in inflammation sites suggests that it plays an intermediary role in regulating the host defense function of macrophages. Counteract the anti-inflammatory effects of glucocorticoids. It has phenylpyruvate tautomerism and dopa-dopamine tautomerism activity (in vitro), but its physiological substrate is still unclear. It is unclear whether there is any physiological relevance to intervariant rubbing activity and whether it is important for cytokine activity.
