Function
Gpi-anchored cell surface protein that regulates the proliferation, differentiation and activation of T lymphocytes. By interacting with the CD3Z/CD247 component on the plasma membrane, it regulates the t cell receptor (TCR) signaling pathway, leading to the regulation of CD3Z/CD247 phosphorylation. (Microbial infection) It is possible to promote the entry of various viruses including HIV-1, West Nile virus, Dengue virus and Zika virus through the enhanced virus-cell fusion process. In contrast, Paramyxovirus PIV5 entering from the plasma membrane does not require LY6E. Mechanismally, microtubule-like tissue is used during virus infection to enhance virus uncoating after nucleosomes escape.
