Cooperation Seeking Creative Biolabs is interested in collaborating with potential partners (include but not limit to major pharma or biotech firms) to further co-develop ADCC-enhanced Interferon alpha receptor 1 antibody. For commercial partners interested in our ADCC-enhanced therapeutic antibodies, Creative Biolabs welcomes collaboration. Here are two ways for your choice, and please contact us for more details.
1) Collaborate with us and co-develop the programs from discovery phase to IND enabling. Costs will be shared.
2) Become a licensed candidate of our programs.
Looking forward to cooperating with you in the near future.

Official Name IFNAR1

Full Name interferon (alpha, beta and omega) receptor 1

Background The protein encoded by this gene is a type I membrane protein that forms one of the two chains of a receptor for interferons alpha and beta. Binding and activation of the receptor stimulates Janus protein kinases, which in turn phosphorylate several proteins, including STAT1 and STAT2. The encoded protein also functions as an antiviral factor.

Alternative Names IFNAR1; interferon (alpha, beta and omega) receptor 1; AVP; IFRC; IFNAR; IFNBR; IFN-alpha-REC; interferon alpha/beta receptor 1; CRF2-1; IFN-R-1; IFN-alpha/beta receptor 1; interferon-beta receptor 1; beta-type antiviral protein; alpha-type antiviral protein; type I interferon receptor 1; cytokine receptor class-II member 1; cytokine receptor family 2 member 1; interferon-alpha/beta receptor alpha chain

Gene ID 3454

UniProt ID Q9UK05

Cellular Localization Plasma membrane, Endosome, Lysosome

Involvement in Disease Diseases associated with IFNAR1 include Hepatitis C and Yellow Fever.

Related Pathways Its related pathways are Immune response IFN alpha/beta signaling pathway and Immune response Role of DAP12 receptors in NK cells.

Function The components of type I interferon receptors, including interferon alpha, IFNB1 and IFNW. IFNAR2 is generally used as a heterodimer. Type I interferon binding activates the JAK-STAT signaling cascade and triggers the tyrosine phosphorylation of many proteins, including JAKs, TYK2, STAT proteins, and IFNR-and-subunits. It can form an active IFNB1 receptor on its own and activate a signal cascade that does not involve activation of the JAK-STAT pathway (through similarity).

Field of research Cancer antibody; Immune System antibody

Post-translational modifications Ubiquitinated, leading to its internalization and degradation. Polyubiquitinated via 'Lys-48'-linked and 'Lys-63'-linked ubiquitin chains, leading to receptor internalization and lysosomal degradation. The 'Lys-63'-linked ubiquitin chains are cleaved off by the BRISC complex. Phosphorylated on serine residues in response to interferon binding; this promotes interaction with FBXW11 and ubiquitination. Phosphorylated on tyrosine residues by TYK2 tyrosine kinase. Phosphorylated on tyrosine residues in response to interferon. Palmitoylation at Cys-463 is required for the activation of STAT1 and STAT2.
