Cooperation Seeking Creative Biolabs is interested in collaborating with potential partners (include but not limit to major pharma or biotech firms) to further co-develop ADCC-enhanced Integrin alpha E antibody. For commercial partners interested in our ADCC-enhanced therapeutic antibodies, Creative Biolabs welcomes collaboration. Here are two ways for your choice, and please contact us for more details.
1) Collaborate with us and co-develop the programs from discovery phase to IND enabling. Costs will be shared.
2) Become a licensed candidate of our programs.
Looking forward to cooperating with you in the near future.

Official Name ITGAE

Full Name integrin, alpha E (antigen CD103, human mucosal lymphocyte antigen 1; alpha polypeptide)

Background Integrins are heterodimeric integral membrane proteins composed of an alpha chain and a beta chain. This gene encodes an I-domain-containing alpha integrin that undergoes post-translational cleavage in the extracellular domain, yielding disulfide-linked heavy and light chains. In combination with the beta 7 integrin, this protein forms the E-cadherin binding integrin known as the human mucosal lymphocyte-1 antigen. This protein is preferentially expressed in human intestinal intraepithelial lymphocytes (IEL), and in addition to a role in adhesion, it may serve as an accessory molecule for IEL activation.

Alternative Names ITGAE; integrin, alpha E (antigen CD103, human mucosal lymphocyte antigen 1; alpha polypeptide); CD103; HUMINAE; integrin alpha-E; HML-1 antigen; integrin alpha-IEL; mucosal lymphocyte 1 antigen; antigen CD103, human mucosal lymphocyte antigen 1; alpha polypeptide

Gene ID 3682

Cellular Localization Membrane

Involvement in Disease Diseases associated with ITGAE include Hairy Cell Leukemia and Splenic Marginal Zone Lymphoma.

Related Pathways Its related pathways are Integrin Pathway and Degradation of the extracellular matrix.

Function Integrin alpha-E/beta-7 is a receptor for E-cadherin. It mediates adhesion of intra-epithelial T-lymphocytes to epithelial cell monolayers.

Biologic Classification Protein Based Therapies
Monoclonal antibody (mAb)

Antibody Isotype IgG

Antibody Clone BioBet-1133ZP

Description The antibody reacts with human CD103, the alpha E integrin. CD103 non-covalently associates with integrin beta 7. CD103 is expressed mainly on intraepithelial lymphocytes and a small subset of peripheral lymphocytes. CD103 is also expressed by hairy cell leukemia (HCL) and by some chronic B cell lymphocytic leukemias.
