Cooperation Seeking Creative Biolabs is interested in collaborating with potential partners (include but not limit to major pharma or biotech firms) to further co-develop ADCC-enhanced IL4 antibody. For commercial partners interested in our ADCC-enhanced therapeutic antibodies, Creative Biolabs welcomes collaboration. Here are two ways for your choice, and please contact us for more details.
1) Collaborate with us and co-develop the programs from discovery phase to IND enabling. Costs will be shared.
2) Become a licensed candidate of our programs.
Looking forward to cooperating with you in the near future.

Official Name IL4

Full Name interleukin 4

Background The protein encoded by this gene is a pleiotropic cytokine produced by activated T cells. This cytokine is a ligand for interleukin 4 receptor. The interleukin 4 receptor also binds to IL13, which may contribute to many overlapping functions of this cytokine and IL13. STAT6, a signal transducer and activator of transcription, has been shown to play a central role in mediating the immune regulatory signal of this cytokine. This gene, IL3, IL5, IL13, and CSF2 form a cytokine gene cluster on chromosome 5q, with this gene particularly close to IL13. This gene, IL13 and IL5 are found to be regulated coordinately by several long-range regulatory elements in an over 120 kilobase range on the chromosome. Two alternatively spliced transcript variants of this gene encoding distinct isoforms have been reported.

Alternative Names IL4; interleukin 4; BSF1; IL-4; BCGF1; BSF-1; BCGF-1; interleukin-4; binetrakin; pitrakinra; B cell growth factor 1; interleukin 4 variant 2; B_cell stimulatory factor 1; lymphocyte stimulatory factor 1

Gene ID 3565

Cellular Localization Plasma membrane, Extracellular region or secreted

Involvement in Disease Diseases associated with IL4 include Schistosomiasis and Vernal Conjunctivitis.

Related Pathways Its related pathways are Immune response Fc epsilon RI pathway and PEDF Induced Signaling.

Function Participates in at least several B cell activation processes and other cell types. It is a common stimulator of DNA synthesis. It induces the expression of class II MHC molecules in dormant B cells. The secretion and cell surface expression of IgE and IgG1 were enhanced. It also regulates the expression of low affinity IgE Fc receptor (CD23) in both lymphocytes and monocytes.Positively regulate the expression of IL31RA in macrophages (through similarity).Dendritic cell autophagy is stimulated by interfering with mTORC1 signaling and inducing RUFY4(similarity).

Post-translational modifications 1.Glycosylation at Asn62 2.Modification sites at PhosphoSitePlus
