Cooperation Seeking
Creative Biolabs is interested in collaborating with potential partners (include but not limit to major pharma or biotech firms) to further co-develop ADCC-enhanced IL23 antibody. For commercial partners interested in our ADCC-enhanced therapeutic antibodies, Creative Biolabs welcomes collaboration. Here are two ways for your choice, and please contact us for more details.
1) Collaborate with us and co-develop the programs from discovery phase to IND enabling. Costs will be shared.
2) Become a licensed candidate of our programs.
Looking forward to cooperating with you in the near future.
Official Name IL23A
Full Name interleukin 23 subunit alpha
Background This gene encodes a subunit of the heterodimeric cytokine interleukin 23 (IL23). IL23 is composed of this protein and the p40 subunit of interleukin 12 (IL12B). The receptor of IL23 is formed by the beta 1 subunit of IL12 (IL12RB1) and an IL23 specific subunit, IL23R. Both IL23 and IL12 can activate the transcription activator STAT4, and stimulate the production of interferon-gamma (IFNG). In contrast to IL12, which acts mainly on naive CD4(+) T cells, IL23 preferentially acts on memory CD4(+) T cells.
Alternative Names P19; SGRF; IL-23; IL-23A; IL23P19
Gene ID 51561
UniProt ID Q9NPF7
Cellular Localization Extracellular region or secreted
Involvement in Disease Diseases associated with IL23A include Multiple Sclerosis and Inflammatory Bowel Disease.
Related Pathways Its related pathways are Tuberculosis and PEDF Induced Signaling.
Function Combined with IL12B to form IL-23 interleukin, which is a heterodimeric cytokine that plays a role in innate immunity and adaptive immunity. IL-23 and IL-17 may constitute an acute response to surrounding tissue infection. IL-23 binds to the heterodimeric receptor complex composed of IL12RB1 and IL23R, activates the Jak-Stat signaling cascade, stimulates memory instead of naive T cells, and promotes the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines. IL-23 induces autoimmune inflammation, so it may be the cause of autoimmune inflammatory diseases and may be important for tumor occurrence.
