Cooperation Seeking
Creative Biolabs is interested in collaborating with potential partners (include but not limit to major pharma or biotech firms) to further co-develop ADCC-enhanced IL1 beta antibody. For commercial partners interested in our ADCC-enhanced therapeutic antibodies, Creative Biolabs welcomes collaboration. Here are two ways for your choice, and please contact us for more details.
1) Collaborate with us and co-develop the programs from discovery phase to IND enabling. Costs will be shared.
2) Become a licensed candidate of our programs.
Looking forward to cooperating with you in the near future.
Official Name IL1B
Full Name Interleukin 1 Beta
Background The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the interleukin 1 cytokine family. This cytokine is produced by activated macrophages as a proprotein, which is proteolytically processed to its active form by caspase 1 (CASP1/ICE). This cytokine is an important mediator of the inflammatory response, and is involved in a variety of cellular activities, including cell proliferation, differentiation, and apoptosis. The induction of cyclooxygenase-2 (PTGS2/COX2) by this cytokine in the central nervous system (CNS) is found to contribute to inflammatory pain hypersensitivity. This gene and eight other interleukin 1 family genes form a cytokine gene cluster on chromosome 2. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Gene ID 3553
Cellular Localization Extracellular region or secreted, Lysosome, Cytosol
Involvement in Disease Diseases associated with IL1B include Gastric Cancer, Hereditary Diffuse and Toxic Shock Syndrome.
Related Pathways Its related pathways are Monoamine Transport and Bacterial infections in CF airways.
Function Effective pro-inflammatory cytokines. It was originally discovered as a major endogenous pyrogen, which can induce prostaglandin synthesis, neutrophil influx and activation, T cell activation and cytokine production, b cell activation and antibody production, fibroblast proliferation and collagen production. Promote T cell Th17 differentiation. Cooperating with IL12/Interleukin-12 to induce T-helper 1 (Th1) cells to synthesize IFNG.
Field of research Pyroptosis Study antibody
Post-translational modifications Activation of the IL1B precursor involves a CASP1-catalyzed proteolytic cleavage. Processing and secretion are temporarily associated.
