Product Type Antibody
Description The antibody clone BU33 recognizes human complement receptor 2 (CR2). The complement pathway forms a cascade of proteins, the main task of which is to eliminate microorganisms. The key step is that C3 convertase activates C3. This important regulator of invertase is completed by many serum proteins. Another group of membrane-bound (complement) proteins regulate cellular immune responses. After C3 is activated, membrane-bound iC3b, C3b and C3d appear, which can interact with CR2. CR2 is expressed on the surface of B cells, follicular dendritic cells (FDC) and certain T cells. Thereby bridging innate and adaptive immunity. On FDC, CR2 acts as an Fc-γ-II receptor. On B cells, CR2 enhances cell activation. In addition, human CR2 also binds Epstein-Barr virus, CD23 and interferon-a. The interaction of C3d and CR2 will collect molecules such as CD19, CD81, and Lew 13. CD19 has a long intracellular tail, which triggers a signal cascade that leads to cell activation and proliferation. CR2 is a glycoprotein associated with the surface, consisting of 15 repetitive short consensus repeats (SCR) with a length of 60-70 amino acids, a transmembrane domain and a short cytoplasmic tail, which can transduce signals .
