Official Name
melanoma cell adhesion molecule
Full Name
melanoma cell adhesion molecule
Background
The CD146 protein (also termed melanoma cell adhesion molecule) is a medium-size transmembrane glycoprotein that belongs to the immunoglobulin superfamily. CD146 is expressed in some normal tissues and subsets of lymphocytes as well as in some other types of tumors, and its specificity is therefore low.
