Product Type Antibody
Description Monoclonal antibody 568 reacts with epitopes on C5 and C5b. C5 participates in the activation of protein pathways in the complement system, which is an important factor in innate immunity. The complement pathway can be divided into activation pathway and lysis pathway. The activation pathway leads to the cleavage of the fifth complement component C5 into C5a and C5b through C3. C5b initiates the assembly of the membrane attack complex (MAC) that mediates cell lysis.
