Description
The amylase assay kit (colorimetric) detects the activity of α-amylase through a two-step reaction.
In the amylase assay protocol, α-amylase will cleave the substrate ethylene-pNP-G7 to produce smaller fragments, which are finally modified by α-glucosidase. This leads to the release of chromophores, which can then be measured at OD = 405 nm.
This assay can detect α-amylase content as low as 0.2 mU.
